Diving and Snorkeling – There are more than 1000 different species of fish to be found around the island. Some of the most marvellous coral reefs are only a couple of meters below sea level which gives snorkelers the perfect view to explore the enchanting world of nemo.
If you never tried to snorkel or dive and always wanted to give it a try should definitely do so. We totally recommend it and you will never forget the beauty of the Indian Ocean. If you want to discover scuba diving, there are several diving schools in Flic en Flac where you will be in good hands. High sea fishing – Blue Marlin and other big fish come in from November until April, even close until May. The seabed only 1 mile falls on up to 70 m off the coast. Mauritius keeps several world records in big game fishing.
Kitesurfing at the Le Morne Brabant – Not too far from our doorstep one of the world’s best hotspots for kitesurfers can be found. Not only ambitious surfers, but als beginners can learn the skills at this great spot with a good breeze.
Surfing in the bay of Tamarin – great waves from May till September for surfers to rolling known worldwide as hotspot under the body stocking surfers.

Golf – The golf courses in Mauritius were voted the “best golf destination” in 2006. Two of these are 18 hole golf courses and are of immediate proximity of the guesthouse as well as a 9 hole course for less practised golfers.
Ile aux Cerfs – from Trou d’Douce you can take a boat to the waterfalls and further on to Ile aux Cerfs, where you can enjoy a barbecue and often a Sega dance show. Located behind the airport is Blue Bay. Boat trips are offered to this beautiful spot which is ideal for snorkeling. It is worth doing one of these trips with a glass bottom boat. The underwater world of the Blue Bay is really breathtaking!

Tamarind Falls – hike up to the 3rd level of the 7 Cascades of the Tamarind Falls. Don’t forget to swim and cool down before heading back down. To enjoy the best views and get the full experience book a guide in advance to show you the hidden spots.
The National Park starts just behind Black River and offers numerous Hiking opportunities to waterfalls and beautiful viewpoints. Ask us about the different hiking routes and spots to see during your trip.
A little further down the road to Le Morne, the road turns left towards Chamarel. Discover Chamarel during a day trip. It offers various waterfalls, it’s colored earth and numerous hiking trails.
Le Morne – offers guided hikes up the mountain. Since 2019 you can do the trip without a guide. From the top you have a breathtaking view over the island. Start early as it can get very crowded and hot the later you start. Don’t forget to pack some good hiking shoes, enough water and sun protection.
Crocodile Park Vanilla – Towards the south behind Le Morne begins one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline the island has to offer. The south of Mauritius is mostly untouched. This route gets beautiful views of the sea. Going south you will also find the Vanilla Crocodile Park, a crocodile farm in a lush and green vegetation.
EUREKA – Head north on the expressway towards Port Louis, exit Moka the old colonial villa Eureka. Within the Maison Eureka you will find a museum about the history of this Creolan mansion and a restaurant. Behind the villa is a beautiful park and an access to a waterfall. The lush vegetation with trees and ferns will invite you to relax and observe all living things. From tiny frogs, to dragonflies and butterflies you will find yourself in a wonderland of animals. Little hint: try to go on Sundays and you will find yourself almost on your own in the beauty of this old Mansion and its surroundings.
Pamplemousses -Northbound between Port Louis and Grand Baie is the exit Pamplemousses to the botanical garden. It’s worth it to bring a guide on the exploration. The guides can be found at the entrances of the botanical garden. Be sure to fix the price before you enter.
Casela Adventure Park – Not only native birds, but also adventurous safaris or walks with lions can be booked. The Casela Adventure Park offers many attractions for all ages.
Château Labourdonnais – In the north of the island near Mapou, this old colonial house is beautifully situated in a park with old trees. A visit will be worth it in any case. The house offers a museum / exhibition and a restaurant. It can be found easily from the highway and can’t be overlooked. Simply leave the next roundabout behind Mapou towards the signs of Château Labourdonnais.
