Our charming kaz kreol, a typical Mauritian Creole house, is located at the foot of the mountain Tourelle de Tamarin.

From our terrace, pool and garden, you enjoy a beautiful view over Tamarin Bay. The bay is also known for its early-morning dolphin and whale encounters.

Our pool is located directly in front of the terrace, surrounded by our spacious garden. Here, you can experience la vie mauricienne — not just as a visitor, but as part of our home.

We regularly organise a table d’hôte or BBQ, featuring local food, local music and sometimes performances by Mauritian artists and friends.

Interested in learning how to cook Mauritian food? We also organise cooking classes, followed by eating together and, of course, dancing to the rhythm of the typical Mauritian sega.

And then there is our legendary sundowner — rum, kayaks, chill-out beats and good company. Local artists and friends sometimes join us to share their talent and craftsmanship.

We are also happy to introduce you to what is happening around Tamarin and the island, from concerts and exhibitions to sports competitions, local events and even dancing at a white party on the beach.

Our little contribution to Mauritius

At Bellevue Tamarin, we try to be as eco-friendly as possible. We separate our waste, use solar energy for water and electricity, and grow some of our own produce in our little bio garden.

We are a European-Mauritian family who love meeting people from all over the world, and we are more than happy to welcome you into our home.

A great base for exploring Mauritius

Bellevue Tamarin is very well located for exploring the island. From here, many of Mauritius' major attractions can be reached within a reasonable drive, making Tamarin an ideal base for discovering the island.

A car is definitely recommended if you want to make the most of your stay.

Beaches & Tamarin

The public beach of Tamarin is about a 5-minute drive away and is one of the best-known surf spots in Mauritius, suitable for both beginners and more experienced surfers.

La Preneuse Beach is also only a few minutes away by car. The surrounding coastline offers beautiful places for swimming, snorkelling and beach walks, and there is also access to the public beach below our house.

Tamarin is located on the west coast of Mauritius, a little less than an hour's drive from the airport, depending on traffic.

As Bellevue is located in a residential area, you may occasionally hear local traffic and everyday neighbourhood life.

If you are particularly sensitive to street noise, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to advise you on the most suitable room.

Everything you need nearby

A supermarket is close by, with a small shopping centre nearby that includes, among other things, a pharmacy.

A larger shopping area, approximately 1.5 km away, offers banks, cafés, restaurants and boutiques.

Several restaurants can be reached by car, bus stops are also located at 15minutes from the guesthouse.
